New 'Do

Rick will kill me I know for posting this picture but it cracks me up so I'm going to do it anyways. Over the weekend I wanted to change up my hair so Rick, my stylist, dyed my hair. I thought this color I had bought long ago was a light brown, closer to my natural hair color (which is a mousy dirty blonde), but it turned out to be a very bold slightly reddish brown. Oh well, I'm sure it will fade eventually and I will go back to blonde.

Emily called me yesterday, a rare occasion.
The reason for the call ... Adelaide's first roll.

Richard's Visit

We were lucky enough to have another visitor this week... Richard came to Colorado and stayed with us from Thursday to Saturday and was able to meet Adelaide for the first time. He was impressed with how strong she was, how she held her neck up so well and he loved how her eyes became moon shaped when she smiled at him. It was a perfect time for him to visit because Rick just finished his 7 week course finals and had Thursday and Friday off school. We had a great time together- the boys fixed up their bikes, went bike riding, spruced up Rick's computer and we all went down to Pearl street together. We got Richard all excited to go to Estes Park by showing him some awesome Elk videos... Sadly, we never made it there because my mouth was really hurting. Instead, we ended up going to the dentist for my appointment while Rick and Richard watched Adelaide. This was Richard's favorite part of his visit- Adelaide had a meltdown and cried for most of my hour and a half appointment. Richard finally got her to sleep though and calmed her down the way only grandpas can... and she woke up later with a smile on her face- she had completely forgotten about her meltdown:) She even took a bottle for the very first time! (She was only fooled for about five minutes though...)

It was great to have Richard here, we miss him already and are excited to see him again over the holidays. Hopefully he will come visit again, and next time I promise not to have any dental problems so we can go see the Elk in Estes Park. I felt really bad about the timing this time and hope he still had a nice time visiting.

First Snow!

It snowed this weekend and it was Adelaide's first time in the snow. We got her all bundled up (which she hated) and headed outside for a little bit of cold fun with our neighbor Ruthie and her daughter Dakota. We were so excited when we moved in to have a family down the hall to be friends with, and Dakota and Adelaide are only months apart so they are becoming best friends.

Our little family with our new friend Frosty.

My masterpiece. I created Frosty all alone while Rick and Ruthie watched me.

Dakota and Adelaide. Dakota seems to like the snow more than Adelaide.
