Last month Rick and I were talking about how it would be a good idea to work out six days a week and we both thought we could do it longer than the other person. So we decided to make a bet out of it...
It took us some time to settle on the terms but they are as follows:
We must workout each day Monday through Saturday by doing one of the following-
running for two miles
swimming for thirty minutes
biking for one hour
If this bet lasts long enough to carry over into our next pregnancy then the individual carrying the baby may substitute their workout with one hour of walking (once it becomes unwise to continue the other forms of exercise). And we can take a maternity/paternity leave around the time of the actual birth. We are not currently pregnant, but had to think of this clause because we both think we can last on this bet forever.
The only other way to be excused from doing this daily workout and not lose the bet is to be really sick. According to Rick this means you must be throwing up multiple times during the day and that it is physically impossible for you to get out of bed.
We are putting $100 in the pot to start, and every month we will add $20 more. Once someone fails, the other person can use whatever amount is in the pot as guilt free spending money.
The bet starts today, July 1st, so we went on a family run together this morning.
