Reconnecting

I was so excited to learn that one of my childhood friends, Tracy, now lives in Colorado! We moved here around the same time, but didn't know that about each other until recently. After discovering we live in the same state we decided to get together earlier this week. It was so fun to catch up with her and have her meet Rick and Adelaide. I have known Tracy for as long as I can remember and now she is a teacher and I am a mom... I feel like we are so grown up, but not really.

Another Birthday Weekend

When I was 11 I started babysitting for a family in my neighborhood that I knew from church. At the time they had two little boys, and when their third child (a girl!) was born I got to watch her as well. I babysat at least once a week until I left for college and became very close with the family. When I went away to school they moved to Colorado, so now that I am here it has been so great to reconnect. Now there are two new little boys and another baby on the way. One of the boys is named Cooper and his first birthday party was over the weekend.

You can imagine with 5 kids there are plenty of awesome toys around, but water bottles are still their favorites.

She has never been to McDonald's, so she loved this!

We borrowed this Excersaucer and it makes both mommy and baby quite happy.

Oh, and I got my hair cut. It is a little shorter than expected but the great thing about hair is that it grows. And the great thing about prenatal vitamins is that they help hair grow faster. I found some leftover from last pregnancy and I am back to taking them religiously:)

Happy Birthday Rick!

Earlier this week we celebrated Rick's 28th birthday! It was a little sad because he had to be at school from 7 am to 10 pm but we had a little party when he got home.

Flower Headbands at Poppy

I'm pretty excited because an adorable boutique just off Pearl Street called Poppy is going to try out selling some of my headbands... Hopefully people buy them!

Getting Well

Last week Adelaide was sick and this week I have been sick, but I am suddenly starting to feel better. It is amazing how being sick really makes you appreciate being well and having the strength and energy to get things done and be active. The only thing I will miss about illness in our house is that when Adelaide is not feeling well she is cuddly and I just love that.

12 on the 12th: April

Have you heard of 12 on the 12th? Apparently on the 12th of each month you take at least 12 photos to best capture your day. I just learned about it, so for this month instead of taking 12 pictures in a day, I'm using 12 pictures to capture the last month. On May 12th maybe I will do it the way it is meant to be done.

01. Worked on some more jewelry... this necklace is my favorite piece to date.

02. Went shopping with Erin and the best buy for sure were these oh-so-awesome sunglasses for Jack.

03. Rick and I have learned to play many songs on this xylophone (for Adelaide's enjoyment, of course).

04. I gave Adelaide her first taste of Mango and she loved it.

05. It was hard to get Adelaide to smile on Easter-- that night she got a fever that reached almost 103 degrees, scary!

06. We had a sleepover at our friend's house one weekend- so fun!

07. Mimi sent some bubbles in an Easter package, and Adelaide was mesmerized.

08. Lance and Rick had such a 'cute' time snowboarding over Spring break.

09. Adelaide is starting to get the hang of sippy cups.

10. Adelaide went on her first bike ride, we realize that her helmet is a little large.

11. Fred and Adelaide become dear friends when he visited over Spring Break.

12. We love rockband... Beatles version especially.

First Hospital Visit

We finally took miss Adelaide to the hospital for a doctor visit after 7 months and 20 days of life! Our lovely doctor told us that she is doing just perfect.

Here are her stats:

Weigh:t 17 lbs 9 oz---50%ile

Height: 25 3/4"---20%ile

Head Circumference: 43.6 cm---60%ile

So there you have it... she weighs about average, is a little short and has a slightly large head.

Finally Asleep

Adelaide is almost recovered from her sickness she acquired earlier this week. While she is sick I tend to spoil her like crazy (honestly, how can you not?) and now that she is getting better she still has a very princess mentality. She cries at the slightest discomfort and expects me to come pick her up and make her laugh. It is my own fault, I know. So I am trying to get her back on track. I put her in bed for a little nap about a half hour ago... after 25 minutes of screaming for me, with no luck, she finally fell asleep. I like the way she is reaching out with her cute little hand in her sleep.

This Is No April Fools Joke

Emily has been trying to get Adelaide to say "mama" for a couple weeks now with no luck. This morning, for the first time, I tried to get her to say "daddy" and she did ... probably because she loves me so much.
