Flowers

I have been wanting to make some cute flowers for Adelaide's headbands since before she was even born but I never seemed to get around to it. Finally yesterday I went to Michaels and picked up some supplies and had a great time making ridiculously large and colorful flowers.
My Mom found us this cute hanging 'A' and I attached some pink ribbon to it for the flowers to clip on to.
Adelaide is very happy about all this.

Loves her Daddy

Rick is very busy with school and gone a lot studying, but when he is home he loves to spend time with his baby girl. He makes her smile and they are just so sweet together.

Only a couple days old.
Playing dominoes.
Chipotle. Yum.
On the way to the Botanic Gardens in Denver.
The only complaint I have is that when Rick is around he always takes off Adelaide's headbands... he thinks they hurt her but they don't:).

Diaper Fun

Adelaide has had some big diaper explosions in the past, but this one is by far the biggest! What you see in the picture is just what escaped- the diaper is still VERY full! Rick and I could not stop laughing as we cleaned her up and popped her in the tub.
Adelaide doesn't actually fit into these cute little shoes yet, but I had to try! Meg and Nick sent these to Rick one birthday- before we were even thinking about getting pregnant, with a note that said "We are ready to be an aunt and uncle whenever you are!" So cute.
I am a fan of washable diapers although we haven't really started using them much yet... I tried one on her the other day and although it fits snug enough and gets the job done, it just looks so silly while she is so small! We'll wait another month or two until the diapers are more proportional to her little body:)

One Month Old

Adelaide is still a pampered little one but she is making some major progress in adapting to life and making my life easier too. For example, every once in a while she will allow me to put her in her chair... This works for about 10-20 minutes until she starts screaming.
The same thing with her bassinet. I let her sleep in our bed at night and I am trying to slowly get her used to her bassinet- she doesn't last very long in there either but we're trying!
She still loves her sling most of the time... I went to the mall with Ruthie the other day and she just wanted to look around so the sling didn't work out for us- but I walk to the grocery store with her in It and she falls asleep every time and looks so cute in there! Sling from the inside:
Sling from the outside:
She is happiest in her boppy (Well VERY happiest being held) I think it tricks her just like the sling into thinking she is being held. This is a picture from today- we went to see Barbie, our midwife, and Adelaide is now 9 lbs 11 oz, and 21 inches-- she's getting chunky!
We love her.

My new friend BOB

BOB Sport Utility Stroller
I am so excited because today I went out and finally got myself a jogging stroller! The "BOB Sport Utility Stroller." I haven't even used him yet but I am already really excited about the idea of running/walking with Adelaide in it... My goal is to train for a marathon in Boulder next September. I hopefully will be able to do the full, but if I'm not ready I am for sure going to at least do the half. I don't think I will do my really long runs with Adelaide- I will do those on the weekends while Rick watches her, but for the shorter weekday runs I think this will be perfect:)

Labor Day Visitors

Over Labor Day Weekend we were lucky enough to have some more visitors! Having a baby isdefinitely a good way to get people to come visit you! :)

Kevin and Rachel made the 8 hour drive from Provo to meet little Adelaide. They arrived Friday night and were apparently impressed that Colorado drivers are much better than Utah drivers. I guess people in Utah don't understand that the left lane is the fast lane or something like that... Anyways, we had a great time hanging out together- playing with Adelaide, wandering the Farmer's Market and Pearl Street, watching Magnum P.I. and BBQing. Kevin helped Rick do some tricks to his new Mac, and Rach made some adorable headbands for Adelaide! It was a short visit, but so fun and we miss them already!

Adelaide is feeling so pretty in her headband from her Aunt Rachel.
Kevin is explaining to Adelaide the purpose of life.
Kevin made Adelaide cry.
Rachel loved to hold Adelaide anytime she could.

Little Ricky

So we've figured it out- Adelaide resembles Rick when he was a baby.
